Winter is on it's way. Can you help local families with any of the following?
It is that time of year again to check your closets for coats you are no longer wearing, and pass them along to Hamilton County Kids Coats for distribution to local families in need. Any size is great ... remember, teenage kids are often in adult sizes. We have a special need for boy’s coats for preschool through elementary. Hats, gloves, mittens, and boots are also needed. During the first three Sundays of September, bring your gently worn coats, boots, hats, and gloves to the entrance of Radiant Christian Life where you will find a box decorated and labeled “KIDS COATS DONATION BOX.” We also need wire hangers (not plastic). We are hoping to collect over 4,000 coats this year. This is an increase of 2,000 plus coats over last year. Do you have a little extra time? The Hamilton County Kids Coats Committee is currently open for new members. If you are interested in volunteering for the November distribution of Kids Coats, contact Marilyn Melangton, 407-4773. Volunteers are needed for set up and sorting on Thursday, October 30th, 6-9pm and also on the day of distribution, Saturday, November 1, 8 am – 2 pm. Contact Patty Lindley directly if you can work anytime during set up and/or distribution. Email her at lindleypatty@yahoo.com. The distribution of the coats will be held at Carmel United Methodist Church located at Rangeline and 126th Street in Carmel. The growing distribution is an indicator of the enormous need in Hamilton County. Let's all chip in to help keep our children warm and healthy. Hamilton County Kids Coats recognizes that to provide coats, boots, hats, gloves, and mittens to local families in need is an important step in spreading the hope that a new life in Christ represents. Thank you for your help. |
